JAYME DEGOOYER | WASHINGTON
A New Hampshire native. Immediately after earning her Bachelor’s degree from Worcester State University she enlisted with the United States Coast Guard in 2004. Jayme spent 12 years on active duty as a Health Services Technician serving her fellow shipmates, and recently transitioned into the Coast Guard Reserves. Some highlights of Jayme’s career on active duty include attending the Joint Services Physical Therapy Assistant program in San Antonio, TX, where she was able to assist wounded soldiers throughout their rehabilitation processes.
In 2011 she was recognized as being the United States Coast Guard enlisted person of the year for her professionalism and personal dedication to community outreach and helping others.
Jayme recently completed her 200 hour Yoga Medicine teaching certification. She believes that yoga can be applied to anybody and is for everybody, regardless of physical or emotional limitations. Jayme began yoga to recover from injuries, as a form of pain management and for emotional and mental therapy. Completing the Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery Yoga teacher Training allowed Jayme to realize her passion for working with veterans could be linked with her passion for Yoga Medicine. She looks forward to continually growing in her practice and with others.
