Veterans Day

Kicking Off the 6th Annual Veterans Yoga Project Gratitude Week

As the daylight hours shorten and the autumnal air turns cooler, our thoughts often begin to turn towards the approaching holiday season. One holiday which is not celebrated with all the pomp and circumstance of many of the other late autumn/winter season is Veterans Day. Veterans day is an official United States public holiday, observed annually on November 11th. This holiday honors our military veterans, that is, persons who served – or are currently serving -- in the United States Armed Forces. The Veterans Yoga Project takes this time to recognize our military personnel by hosting its Annual Veterans Yoga Project Gratitude Week. Now in its 6th year, this event will span ten full days, beginning November 8th thru the 18th.

What happens during Veteran Yoga Project’s Gratitude Week

Over the course of 10 days, yoga teachers and yoga studios raise money to aid in recovery and resilience for our Veterans, families, and communities by conducting classes across the nation. Donations raised will fund yoga programs for our Veterans, families, and communities.

Our Goals

The VYP VGW campaign’s focus is to call attention to trauma-related conditions and the power of yoga as a tool for healing. Our goal is to raise $100,000 and have 500+ classes in 50 US states and beyond.
